Punjab Announces Reduced Syllabus for Class 9 and 10 Annual Exams

Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat has announced that the smart syllabus for grades 9 and 10 will be uploaded on the official websites of all education boards and the School Education Department today.

In a brief statement shared on his official social media account, the minister also confirmed that the smart syllabus for grade 11 will be uploaded next week.

The announcement comes as a major update for students and teachers across Punjab, who have been awaiting the release of the revised syllabus for the upcoming academic session.

The new smart syllabus aims to simplify coursework, reduce the academic burden on students, and ensure more focused preparation for board examinations.

According to education officials, the revised syllabus will exclude non-essential topics and focus on core subjects to help students prepare efficiently for exams. Teachers have welcomed the move, calling it a step toward a more practical and streamlined education system.

Students are advised to visit the official websites once the syllabus is uploaded and begin their preparation accordingly. The initiative is part of the Punjab governmentโ€™s ongoing efforts to improve curriculum quality and enhance learning outcomes in public and private schools across the province.
