MBBS, BDS Passing Marks and Attendance Requirement Changed Again

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has withdrawn its earlier decision that set 65 percent as the passing marks for MBBS and BDS programs, restoring the previous benchmark of 50 percent for the 2024โ€“25 academic session.

According to a fresh notification issued by the council, the decision to increase the passing marks from 50 to 65 percent for the current session has been officially reversed. The PMDC stated that all medical and dental colleges across the country must now adhere to the revised policy.

Unusual Weather Turns Day Into Night in Swat In addition to the passing marks revision, the council has also rescinded the 85 percent attendance requirement previously imposed on MBBS and BDS students. For the ongoing academic year, the attendance threshold has been restored to 75 percent, in line with earlier regulations.
The PMDC has instructed all recognized medical universities and colleges to implement the updated rules immediately and ensure compliance.
