The Punjab Department of Special Education has announced that all special education institutions across the province will now have a Saturday holiday, in addition to the regular Sunday break.
According to the official notification, the new schedule applies to all schools and training centers for persons with disabilities. This means special education institutions in Punjab will now operate five days a week instead of six.
The department has circulated copies of the notification to all District Education Officers (DEOs) and Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) for immediate implementation.
Officials stated that the decision aims to provide relief and convenience to both students and staff, giving them additional rest and preparation time for the upcoming week.
The new policy will come into effect starting next week, marking a positive step toward improving the well-being and work-life balance of students and teachers in special education institutions across Punjab.
