The Sindh government has decided to revise the curriculum and introduce daily library classes in all public sector colleges across the Hyderabad region to boost learning standards and rebuild student reading habits.
The decision came during a high-level meeting chaired by Colleges Secretary Nadeem-ur-Rehman Memon. Director General of Colleges Navaid Rab Siddiqui, Regional Director Colleges Hyderabad Mustafa Kamal, and college principals attended the session.
Curriculum to Align With Modern Needs
Officials discussed revising the existing curriculum to meet contemporary academic and professional requirements. The secretary emphasised that daily library sessions will help students improve comprehension, research ability, and vocabulary.
Over 100,000 Students to Benefit
According to shared data, 104,326 students are enrolled in 72 government colleges in the Hyderabad region. The reforms will apply to all of them.
Restoration of Damaged Colleges Ordered
Secretary Memon directed the Education Works Department to rebuild classrooms, boundary walls, and basic facilities in 12 rain-affected colleges. He stressed that students should not suffer due to neglected infrastructure.
Co-Curricular and Sports Activities Revived
He further underlined the role of sports and co-curricular activities in student development. The department will organise an Inter-College Sports Week in December to encourage participation and improve student engagement.
