The Punjab government is launching its first official university ranking system to improve higher education standards across the province

The project, costing about Rs. 50 million, will assess more than 60 public and private universities and highlight the top 10 institutions each year.
Officials said the ranking will be updated annually and used to guide funding and policy decisions. A government spokesperson added that the system will promote quality, fairness, and healthy competition among universities.
